CISV is committed to creating rewarding, meaningful experiences for program participants while also keeping them safe. CISV International have created detailed safety protocols for COVID-19. This document from CISV International covers expectations for vaccination, masking, social distancing, pre-travel testing, and other mitigation strategies. All sites are required to have these enhanced safety protocols in place. They also must have staffing back-up plans in case leaders or others become ill, as well as appropriate medical and public health support. All sites must also have adequate space for isolation and quarantine should staff or children become ill. Families familiar with CISV will note some important differences from pre-pandemic programming that will further reduce exposure to COVID-19. For 2022 these include no homestays, no excursions or shopping days, and no visitors to the site.
Guidelines will likely continue to evolve and we will share any updates that become available.
